What is GRP?  Glass Reinforced Polyester (also known as fibreglass or glassfibre) is a term used for a two component ‘plastic’ type material that is stiffened and reinforced by bonding polyester resin to a multi-stranded fibrous glass ‘mat’. The whole product cures chemically into an inert ‘mass’ that will not warp, shrink or rust and is remarkably stable. GRP has no joins, seams, rivets or welds visible on the face of the door and its gel-coat face is capable of picking up a completely faithful woodgrain pattern from the moulding process that will even leave the timber experts fooled.

The luxury Glasswood and Glasswhite ranges are handcrafted from GRP (Glass Reinforced Polyester)
in a low maintenance, life-like timbergrain or high-gloss white finish.  The Glasswood range offers the classic appearance and beauty of timber but with low maintenance UV-fast panels with no risk of rotting, cracking or warping.  The exterior finish is guaranteed for 10 years.

GRP has outstanding qualities that make it ideal for use in the manufacture of garage doors.
GRP is made using glass fibre material which is highly durable, exceptionally strong and yet lightweight.  It offers a high level of panel detail, "wipe clean" low maintenance finish and resistance to knocks, dents and abrasions.

GRP Glasswood garage doors have a highly detailed timbergrain finish which is available in a choice of either Mahogany, Light Oak or Dark Oak.  The Premium range has steel reinforcing laminated into the rear of the door for added strength and rigidity, and is supplied with a black handle. The Deluxe range incorporates all the benefits of the Premium range, together with an additional flowcoat layer applied to the rear of the door, providing an attractive and smooth semi-gloss finish. Brass effect handles are supplied with Deluxe doors.

GRP Glasswhite is a crisp, high-gloss white panel which is UV-fast to help protect against fading.  The Premium range has steel reinforcing laminated into the rear of the door for added strength and rigidity, and is supplied with a black handle.  The Deluxe range incorporates all the benefits of the Premium range, together with an additional flowcoat layer applied to the rear of the door, providing an attractive and smooth semi-gloss finish.  Brass effect handles are supplied with Deluxe doors.

Up-and-over garage doors are available in a choice of Canopy Trackless or Slideaway Retractable lifting gear
and in single, double and made-to-measure sizes.

Our GRP doors come fully finished and do not require painting.

The up-and-over doors may be fitted to a wooden frame or may be supplied with a low maintenance Plastisol coated steel fixing frame.  If possible, we normally recommend that up-and-over doors are supplied with a factory fitted steel fixing frame as this eliminates the need for a wooden frame which may rot over time.  All doors are available in either Slideaway Retractable or Trackless Canopy styles.  All Slideaway Retractable style doors are suitable for automation.
